Synopsis:
'The horror on the train, great though it may turn out to be, will not compare with the horror that exists here, in this house.' On Christmas Eve, heavy snowfall brings a train to a halt near the village of Hemmersby. Several passengers take shelter in a deserted country house, where the fire has been lit and the table laid for tea - but no one is at home. Trapped together for Christmas, the passengers are seeking to unravel the secrets of the empty house when a murderer strikes in their midst.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Christmas RABCK Release to Abi-Gibby. Enjoy & Happy Christmas!
Book arrived in the post today yay :) will read it ASAP. Thank you for your generouse RABCK very kind of you to do this
I enjoyed the concept of the book with the train getting stuck in the snow and a group of people being stuck together for Christmas and having to solve a murder and the whodunnit plot line. Thought that was a very original idea for a book written in the 30's. I also thought the writing style was very good
But I did find that the book and story was very slow to start off with and a bit on the predictable side, I found some of the characters irritating and wooden. Compared to some of the other books I've read from this author this book isn't his best.
This book will be going to either the winner of my Christmas sweepstakes or one of the secret santas I have entered
