Short summary:
Becky spends too much money on clothes and shoes and gets into problems.

Back cover text:
Hello New York, here I come.

English back cover text (from Amazon):
With her shopping excesses (somewhat) in check and her career as a TV financial guru thriving, Becky’s biggest problem seems to be tearing her entrepreneur boyfriend, Luke, away from work for a romantic country weekend. And worse, figuring out how to pack light. But packing takes on a whole new meaning when Luke announces he’s moving to New York for business—and he asks Becky to go with him! Before you can say “Prada sample sale,” Becky has landed in the Big Apple, home of Park Avenue penthouses and luxury boutiques.

Surely it’s only a matter of time until she becomes an American TV celebrity, and she and Luke are the toast of Gotham society. Nothing can stand in their way, especially with Becky’s bills miles away in London. But then an unexpected disaster threatens her career prospects, her relationship with Luke, and her available credit line! Shopaholic Takes Manhattan — but will she have to return it?

First paragraph:

Review:
Story:
I haven't read the first book or any other books in this series, so maybe I've missed some things, but it's very understandable without having read the other books.
I had expected a story about someone who spent too much money, but still... If you're looking for an excuse to spend money, you can find all different kinds of excuses in this book :P You do get an idea about why and how someone can spend so much money, causing a negative amount of money on her bank account. The descriptions of the shopping were written very much from the viewpoint of the shopper (Becky): why did she NEED to buy those things. Mostly clothing and shoes. And because she owns so much clothing, she does lend it to her friends (and friends of friends), which I do think is good.
In the end it works out well, but I doubt she learned much from it...
There weren't any characters I really liked, though, but it's a book that reads very quickly so I didn't spend much time with it.

Writing style:
It reads very easily. Written in 1st-person viewpoint.

Spelling errors/typos:
p. 64:
organisch = biologisch
p. 82:
...scherm verdwijnt. =
...scherm verschijnt.
p. 213:
p. 298:
Want als je dat echt denk, ... =
Want als je dat echt denkt, ...

Conclusion:
Now I know what everyone's talking about, but I didn't like this book personally. Too many excuses for spending too much money...

Rereadability:
I'm not going to read it again.
