Rather an old copy, repaired here and there, but not bad enough to throw away. Illustrated by Joseph Lada.
On its way to ETMadrid.
Thank you so much maid-of-kent! I am very grateful and am hoping to read it soon. The film studios next to me, Sands Films, are starting work on making a film of it, and someone I know told me it is one of his favourite books, so I thought I better find out for myself: thank you for giving me the opportunity!

I have finally read this! I ended up having to see the play in the theatre next to where I live BEFORE I read the book because I just couldn't squeeze it in... The film being made was actually a film of the stage adaption at Sands Films. It is very rare that I say such a thing but I actually think that I enjoyed the play and the film more than i enjoyed the actual book. To begin with I got on OK with it but later on it became rather turgid to me. I applaud the work of my local film studios who have managed to see something much more profound in it than anything I can say. I plan to take some sellotape to the book as it really is on its last legs. But it is a vintage copy with great style, no doubt. Anyway maid-of-kent I am extremely grateful for this opportunity, so thank you again.
