Subtitle: A Novel Based on the True Story of a Hitler Youth

Helmuth Hübener's story is told in flashbacks: as a teenager growing up in Nazi Germany, Helmuth increasingly finds himself disagreeing with his country's government. He eventually finds a way to fight back against the censorship of the oppressive regime until, at age 17, he is caught and sentenced to death.

After his arrest, Helmuth was excommunicated by his local LDS branch president (an ardent Nazi), but he was later reinstated into the church and has since been honored for his bravery.
