The premise of this fantasy is quite interesting. A parallel world holds records of all lives on Earth, but the Guardians are forbidden access to Earth, which they call Paradise, although the Waymasters may enter it. An author and a researcher on Earth have intuited this world. The two worlds are drawing closer and the world of the Guardians is under threat. The Guardians seek help from the author and researcher. In doing so, they leave a doorway through which a great threat is set against Earth.
Although the storytelling is not of the best, reducing the book to a number of chase sequences, it is a fairly undemanding read (think holidays, travel, in bed on sick leave) with one exception. The exception is a description of gratuitous violence. Although the event described may be important to the storyline, the full details are not.
So, essentially, I am undecided about this book and will be interested to hear the thoughts of other readers.
