I picked up this book at a used book sale and then wondered why? I've never seen Rin Tin Tin, so don't actuall have any connection or knowedge of this dog. So when I saw it on hyphen8's wishlist, I decided to pass it along instead as part of the US/Canada wishlist tag game. Enjoy!
Received today as a wishlist tag - thank you!
I've never seen Rin Tin Tin either, but I heard the author doing a piece about the WWII Dogs for Defense program on This American Life, and that got me interested in the book.
We'll see how it goes.
Here are some other articles about the US government's use of dogs during WWII, including one project that completely blew my mind when I first heard about it.
Awesome Dogs of the United States Military
Quartermaster War Dog Program
Secret Mission
100th Infantry Battalion Veterans

Still TBR, but now reserved for a wishlist tag, so I'll need to fish or cut bait.
