Truly delighted to find this little book in Shakespeare and Company on the left bank in Paris almost opposite Notre Dame. This enchanting rambling bookstore on various levels and almost crammed full to busting fits well with the ambiance of the major work.
I'd been given Mr Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore for Christmas a couple of years ago and was not even aware of any prequel so was thrilled to come across this little gem. It certainly didn't disappoint. Quite the reverse.

Mister Penumbra still sits on my tbr-shelf -but if this is the prequel, I think I'd better start with this book...

What a mysteriously charming book! I very much love books in books and about books and now I can't wait to read the sequel, which has been sitting on my tbr-shelf for ages. I never came around reading it because of the small and cramped typeface used - but this will no longer be a hindrance now... 😀
