A Lost Lady

As I noted when I read"My Antonia", I only wish that I had been introduced to Willa Cather when i was young. "A Lost Lady" is Marian Forrester, a true enigma, steadfast and faithless. dazzling and pathetic. Niel Herbert first meets her when he is a child and learns to love her dearly and when he becomes an adult, her confidant. Marian reflects the conventions of her age even a she flaunts them in the early railroad town of Sweet Water on the Western Plains of the United States. This book is hard two put down.
