Spanning six decades and two continents, this is the saga of three generations of an interrelated family. It is a love story; it is history; it is art, and more. Taylor Woodmere, the son of Addison Woodmere, is sent to Paris in 1937 to meet with a business associate of his father. There he meets Sarah Berger, the daughter of Emanuel Berger. But the war parts the pair, but the painting he purchased gets returned to him. Will he ever find her again or is she one of the many victims of the Holocaust?
When the painting is noticed by a Holocaust survivor, the provenance is questioned, and more than one generation's story is revealed. Highly recommended read on the order of Sarah's Key.

Thank you so much for thinking of me for this book. It seems to be something I will certainly enjoy. It is a nice surprise.
This book was a bit of a surprise to me. When I saw it was set in Europe about the time of WWII I wasn't sure I wanted to read it as I don't like to read about cruelty, torture, murder, and fear. But it's sort of like a Cozy Mystery as the "bad" stuff happens off-stage. There's no profanity or raw sex described. It's a touching story of a teenage girl and her family's decision about emigrating Germany to go live in the USA. This is the story of what many of our ancestors experienced. If you enjoy historical with a little love story on the side you'll enjoy this one.
Book is taking off for a long flight to NowINkA in Poland.

Arrived today along with a wishlist book by Alexander McCall Smith. Thank you. I do like stories set around WWII and the blurb sounds promising so I'm looking forward to reading it! (though it may take some time as my TBR pile is quite high already!).
A compelling family saga spanning World War II to the present day. Now ready to start its journey again!
Destination... Greece. Enjoy the book alexiapapa!
The book arrived safely! Thank you very much!
