From a Dead Ambassador's Library. The book has been in Jedda - wherever that is - in 1976.I got a legacy of 27 extremely dusty book bags from this man I've never met. I wish the Foreign Ministry would set up a library of their own where the widows and children could dump their books, this is already the second Ambassador after whom I'm clearing books. I'm drowning....
Sending this off to Greece as a (delayed) birthday present. I know alexiapapa had Cather in the Rye on her wishlist, but that I'm sure somebody else will send her - these short stories by Salinger I've never even seen before. Hopefully you'll enjoy them.
I'm putting some heat in the envelope, too. It's 29 C degrees here and this is the weather they are supposed to have in Greece!

Thanks for this book and the beautiful vase!I've never heard of this book before. I must admit that I only know (and I've only read "The catcher in the Rye) from Salinger, and I'm quite curious about this one.
Really interesting book and short stories. Small "slices of life", but with a real talent for characters. I enjoyed this book much more than "the Catcher in the Rye", which is the only other book I read of the same author.
