I'm told Ben Elton writes good TV comedy, but this book is 350 pages longer than the joke or plot for that matter.

Perhaps the problem is that Elton has written a 'thriller' and Ian Rankin he isn't.

I enjoyed poking fun at the Big Brother boom, but I've never stuck to the bitter end of a book with such a dismal array of unsympathetic idiotic characters.

I know that's 'the point' and to give Elton credit, I did finish the book, however I was stuck on a plane with out any alternative at the time.

Fairy floss fiction which leaves a very sick taste in the mouth.

I picked this book up at Lou Jacks this morning. First book I've found since I became a member a few weeks ago! Just boarding a plane to NZ, so looking forward to having a bit of extra reading material for the flight. Hope I enjoy it more than the last reader did!!

Quite enjoyed this book...an easy read, nothing too strenuous. Dropped it off outside Browns Bay library and was pleased to see it had gone by the time I came back.
