I Know Nothing: The Autobiography

A wonderful autobio by the most estimable Andrew Sachs, famed for his role as Manuel In Fawlty Towers, but with a distinguished preceding career as a stage actor.
Unlike most thesp bios, this one avoids tedious name-dropping and dull celeb anecdotes. That portion of Sachs' career is only a thin part of the sandwich. More than a third of the book - for me the most riveting - is the story of his early childhood as a Jewish boy in Nazi Berlin, later as a refugee in London. The final third of the book is devoted, as you would suspect, to Sachs' Manuel days, with some revealing addenda on the squalid Russell Brand business.
