While this is a novel about a woman's transformation when surgery lands her in a wheelchair, it's also a tale of what it's like to deal with disability. If you've ever wondered what it's like to live with disability, to be part of that "minority" this book can tell you. It's not scary, it doesn't involve pity or fear, it's just one woman's way of telling you what it's like - what the barriers can be, what she learned.
