I was walking around Parks Lake in Rockaway, NJ when I came across a pile of books. As an English Literature major, I of course ran over to the books scattered in the gazebo. It had started to down pour, so my boyfriend and I ran to take shelter under the gazebo. I picked up "A Short Guide to a Happy Life". He told me to put the book down because I didn't know who it belonged to. I opened the cover of the book and read "I am not lost, I am on a journey". I had been going through a rough time when I found this book on that hot August day, and finding this book was exactly what I needed. I have fallen in love with some of the passages from this book.
For example my absolute favorite lines from the book, "Get a life in which you are not alone. Find people you love, and who love you. And remember that love is not a leisure, it is work." Life is hard and you lose the people you love, but you have to keep going. Move on and keep loving.
I haven't wanted to send this book off. I keep rereading it. When I have a rough day, I search through this book and reread lines that have inspired me over the past few months. But, it is time that this book travel forward and inspire the next reader.

It is so easy to exist than it is to live. Unless you know that there is a clock ticking.
