Bought in Oxfam- either to be read or released, depending on whether someone asks for it before I get 'round to reading it.

Released from the groaning table at the uk bookcrossing un-official meet with among others Wistfuldragon (who is not from Wales) and Steve (who is not an axe murderer)

Having read Round Island with a Fridge and the Moldovian Tennis one couldn't resist picking thi book up for me and dh to read.

Journal Entry 3 by weebly from Hartwell, Northamptonshire United Kingdom on Saturday, October 9, 2004
Following a reading challenge in the release challenges forum to read all books sent to me by book crossers before the end of the year! This is now my current read - will update once I have finished it.

Journal Entry 4 by weebly from Hartwell, Northamptonshire United Kingdom on Monday, October 18, 2004
Finished this yesterday. I found it really dragged during the first bit based in the U.S.A. but the adventures in Albania really tickled me and made me pleased to have read the book.

Thanks for sharing estherase, I will offer this on BCUK now.

Released on Sunday, November 07, 2004 at about 5:00:00 AM BX time (GMT-06:00) Central Time (US & Canada) at Forest Cafe-Salcey Forest-Near Hartwell/Quinton in Northamptonshire, England United Kingdom.

RELEASE NOTES:

Thought I would take the book to my new OBCZ to carry on its travels. It is going in the cafe in Salcey Forest which is a beautiful place to wrap up and go for an autumn walk followed by a tea and cakes in the cafe.

This has gone from the Cafe - but not had a new journal yet. Where are you book ? I hope it is being enjoyed wherever it is.

Hmmm - seems like this book has had a mysterious reader since November, as I picked this up from the OBCZ in the Forest Cafe on New Year's Day. I was mildly confused by the fact it has two BC numbers in it, but as one of them leads to a copy of "archangel" by Robert Harris, I think I'll scribble that one out... (weebly!)

I have in the past found Tony Hawks to be mildly irritating, but have been meaning for some time to give his books a go. I think I'm about 1000th in line for a copy of "Round Ireland with a Fridge", so rather than hold my breath for that one, this was too good an opportunity to pass up. I Was dropping off a couple of books at the OBCZ after a nice walk with my parents and their dog, when I saw this, and thought that it would make for some nice easy reading, so I dropped my books off, picked this up and went back to my hot chocolate and lemon drizzle cake.

I remember "Stutter Rap" very well. I was 14, and oh how I laughed.

Esther - here I am picking up yet another book that has come from your bookshelf. Either it's a small world, or your shelves are like the TARDIS.

Well, I still find Tony Hawks mildly irritating (he has a certain turn of phrase that really gets on my wick) but overall I have to say that I enjoyed this book. It's not art, but doesn't pretend to be, and I think the author has a nice line in self-deprecation, when he is clearly quite the renaissance man.

I thought it ended a little bit abruptly and I didn't feel as though we reached 'closure' on the project, but otherwise it was a good read. I didn't think any of it dragged all that much (I enjoyed the Nashville section - the guitar pull in particular), and it's an amiable meander across the world in search of a hit. I'll have to go to his website and get news on some of the other stuff he starts during the course of the book and we don't get updated on (e.g. the Romanian section, the attempt at a hit in Ibiza...)

I really must try and find a copy of "Round Ireland with A Fridge"....

I picked this up at the Salcey Forest OBCZ on the occasion of an extremely enjoyable BCUK meet-up there. I knew I wanted to read it, but couldn't actually remember whether or not I already had a copy! Of course, it now proves that I have got it languishing on Mt TBR, so this copy will be released to travel on.

I'm sending this off to the winner of the latest BCUK Sweepstakes. It's not the lightest book I could have picked to post across the Atlantic, but I think Tony Hawks is a rather typical representative of British humour, so it seems a good choice.

If anyone is unfamiliar with Stutter Rap, you can download it from Tony Hawks' website.

Rec'd from Jalna as part of the 5th Tiara RABCK Sweepstakes. Thank you!

This was an okay book, but not hilarious such as "'Round Ireland with a Fridge."
