Just picked this up in a charity shop. I enjoyed The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by the same author.

I didn't finish this because a couple of the characters were deeply unhappy people. I am pretty sure things weren't going to improve for them and I'm in the mood for something a bit more uplifting. There is one character who is quite buoyant, but she wasn't enough.

Thanks for Tagging me Bookfrogster
Look forward to reading this.
It's joined the tower of Mt TBR, but I don't think it will take long before it's plucked off and enoyed!

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
This book caught me totally by surprise.
After reading
The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry which didn't really strike me as a book that unearthed alot of emotion, this book was strides ahead.
This author clearly has a knack for weaving tales that do not seem to tie together, and then at the end, gives you that slap in the face of how silly you could be not to have figured it out earlier.
I found the relationship between Diana and Beverley is so well portrayed as the manipulative facade that it is, that as the reader, the feeling of frustration just wells up inside.
I am a huge fan of authors who use just enough characters, and makes them all count, and for this I am a true fan of Rachel Joyce.

For me, this book had a bit of a slow start, and I almost gave up on it, but I'm glad I persevered because I did enjoy it in the end :)
Off to jeniwren in Australia later today.

The book has just arrived, thank-you jeniwren. Having already read and thoroughly enjoyed The Unlikely Pilgrimage and The Love Song of Miss Queenie Hennessy, I can hardly wait to get into to this one. Just noticed it has traveled far and wide, it can rest awhile in Templestowe before resuming its journey.

There is something about Rachel Joyce's writing that just clicks with me, I was hooked from the first page. A roller coaster of emotions followed through to the ending which took me by surprise somewhat. Recommended reading.
