“I walked and walked, sometimes with an objective- a friend's house, a shop, the church or school- but mostly at random, to outrun oppression.”
― Jessica Anderson, Tirra Lirra by the River

I finally got around to reading this wonderful little book. I went on a long road trip and brought a stack of books that I wanted to read for book_drunkard's ABC Challenge. This was my "T" book. I enjoyed the story of Nora Porteous, very much. I love that she wasn't a typical woman of her day and that she refused to let go of her spirit, despite society's obstacles and marriage's confines. Well worth the time to read. I have a journey planned for this book and hopefully I will get it moving, soon. It has spent way too much time on my bookshelf.

To my fellow reader:

I have been a Bookcrossing member for 13 years, helping to make the world a library. Today I am setting my book free for others to enjoy. Since joining Bookcrossing, I have seen several of my books travel all around the world. It is exciting to read my books' entries as people write in each book's journal but it is also exciting that I can encourage literacy in such a fun and unique way. Bookcrossing, I found, is not only about sharing books but also provides a safe and secure way to talk to book lovers all over the world through the site's forums.

I hope that you enjoy Tirra Lirra by the River. Looking forward to your thoughts on this story and seeing where this book travels next.
