My son's favorite movie is Dolphin tale. The day I received the book, it was a pleasant surprise and i couldn't wait to get home and share be beautiful short story on the Dolphin's Triumph. The little man loved the lovely pictures and followed the flow of the story word by word...at the end, father and Son could only smile and hi5 knowing through determination and mother's tender care and re-assurance the little dolphin broke through the water surface like a torpedo and was flying high!...

Thank you for the lovely book. Our Diabetes Community in Kenya is growing well and strong in creating awareness. The forum and Community Based organization is the only in Kenya with Whatsapp Diabetes Support Groups. The interaction between members has been amazing and we thank God for the grace and Kindness.

#AboutUs

DMRC is Community Based Organization registered in Kenya. We actively run social media platforms that educate people about diabetes. The journey was started on May 2014 on Facebook and so far has more than 10,085 community members. We have diversified our social platforms by reaching those in Twitter and Whatsapp. The page and our social media platforms offer selfless information and has created a lot of awareness which is visible from the feedback that we receive. DMRC has also helped some few people suffering from diabetes to get donors of free Glucometers while others have been able to buy them at cheaper prices.

#Plan

As we establish ourselves, we aim to set up centers all over Kenya especially in the rural areas where such centers are few and sometimes not available. We believe that information is power and nobody should suffer from diabetes due to lack of knowledge or accessibility to it. With the help of well wishers and donors, we believe that we can reduce the prevalence towards diabetes. We will work various professionals to offer the following services:

-Blood sugar screening

-Eye and foot screening

-Blood pressure check

-Educating people on nutrition and about diabetes in its broader sense

-Provision of insulin at subsidized prices/ Free to all T1 diabetics under 18 Years

-Organizing events such as walks, outreach activities that will enable those with diabetes to get free services and donations

-Carry out research through survey to know the greatest challenge people with diabetes face especially those in rural areas and how they can be assisted.
