I selected this book from The Book Thing of Baltimore, Inc., an organization whose mission it is to put books into the hands of those who want them.
I just decided to toss this book onto my To Read list...
I started reading this book tonight for the May 2018 TIOLI challenge on LibraryThing to read a book where one word gives a Scrabble score of more than 2.5 points per letter. The word "oryx" has four letters and 14 Scrabble points or 3.5 points per letter.
I gave up on this book. I read a little over 50 pages and found that I had no interest in Snowman/Jimmy, Jimmy's mom, Jimmy's dad, or Jimmy's pet rakunk. I tried, but this book is no The Handmaid's Tale. Too bad!
