This is a novel based on the true story behind Jacqueline Kennedy's iconic pink suit.

Based on the back cover: This is the unforgettable story of Kate, an Irish immigrant seamstress, who worked behind the scenes at Chez Ninon to meticulously craft the outfits that Kennedy wore. Kate is an ordinary woman with extraordinary access to fashion and glamour, living in an America on the brink of transformation.

An iconic suit, two women--one a seamstress, the other the wife of the President--, and the story that ties them both together. Kate is the Irish-born seamstress who worked at Chez Ninon, the New York based couture house that was utilized by The Wife (as Jacqueline Kennedy is referred to). Kate helped create the Chanel-inspired suit that captivated Kennedy and the world. This is Kate's story, the story behind the iconic pink suit. This is her life, her experiences, her brush with fame, and her neighborhood in the Sixties when President Kennedy and his wife were in the White House.

This was an interesting book but definitely not something I'd have picked. What an interesting look into what went on behind the scenes to get the pink suit! I'm glad I had the chance to read it. Will find a new reader for it soon.

Thanks so much for sending this my way! Yes, I think I will find this interesting---and then I will probably pass it along to my daughter who adores copying Mrs. Kennedy's fashionable outfits.

I enjoyed this book mostly because of the nostalgia. I was a little girl when Barbie first came out and we all were dressing our dolls like Jackie Kennedy! My mom and all the ladies were wearing Jackie's outfit knock offs! I enjoyed the romance the main character had in this book and was happy how it ended! I am taking it to the little free library up the street to trade for something else!
