I've only read 2 Stephen King books and they were both in the last year or so. I'm not sure why that is but I've been putting them on my wishlist and they've been piling up on the tbr list :) This latest one is from bookmooch and I remember kids at school going on about how scary the film was but I never managed to get a copy of it on video. Still, I have the book now. Do your best Mr. King, scare me silly!

IT is a monster of a book but at no point does it feel like it's to long. Every page matters in this one and there were no dull points in the story.

I very recently saw the new film version of IT and loved it. The old film version was something someone would always say they could get a copy of to bring to a sleepover but no one ever delivered the goods and I still haven't seen the original.

As the new film only shows when they were children, the adult part being saved for a sequel, there was plenty of stuff I didn't know about in the book and it was good to see the changes made, and I can see why the film left things out.

For example, the sex scene with Beverly. I found this bit in the book very odd and slightly unnecessary. I can see why the film chose not to include that, as no one wants to watch 11 year olds having a gang bang. ewww.

I wish the film had added the spider though, I'm way more scared of spiders than I am of clowns.

I didn't find this book scary, well apart from when I went round the in laws house and my mother-in-law found a random balloon and she wasn't sure where it had come from, that made me think of IT and had a slight creepy feeling then! But I did really love the book.

Really liked how it explored the differences between adults and children. It's bound to make you feel nostalgic for childhood, even if you weren't around in the fifties. So far this has been my favorite Stephen King book and would really recommend.
