I used to love this book. Actually, I still do but I've got 2 copies of it. Misty of Chincoteague is about a brother and sister named Paul and Maureen who want to own a wild pony named the Phantom who lives on nearby Assateague Island. Every year, the wild ponies of Assateague are rounded up and brought to Chincoteague Island where Paul and Maureen live. Then the ponies are auctioned off. So, Paul and Maureen save their pennies to buy the Phantom. The thing is, nobody has ever been able to catch the Phantom before. Read the book to find out what happens.
