Purchased this with an Amazon gift card. Story of Gal Garner, biology teacher and amateur rose breeder who is living with kidney failure. One day her estranged sister's daughter shows up and decides to live with her.

It's a good novel, but the main character (who is supposed to be curmudgeonly) is a little too remote. And she's also a little judgy. And the secondary characters were not well-drawn. But the plot itself was interesting and I liked learning about the roses.
