Read for the Postal reading challenge.
I bought this new, thinking I would love it. It was ok, but I didn't love it.
Sending it on to another Bookcrosser, hoping she enjoys it more then I did.

so this is the second book this week i have read that i did not enjoy as much as i thought i would

like wombles i thought it was ok, but i did not love it

the style irritated me - the 'messages' between characters, some letters and some emails - it was not always easy to work out who was writing (and had to work out for myself in what format) - letters between usa and the uk surely travel longer than overnight

and as for plot - oh my goodness - the formula here is to add another character, oh wait that character muct bring along a problem, then let's add another character and yes remember that challenge to bring with them....

i wonder if the novel needed a much tighter edit
all that said, it wasn't a difficult book ro read, just frustrating in style, but easy enough for a lazy summer read

the book will now travel in accompany of others to another bookcrosser

thankyou wombles for sharing it with me
:)

Emjoyable, easy reading, but not much substance. A pen-pal, love affair. I see the point - that they both had to change within before they could meet - but there was no depth to the story. Nice, but not particularly memorable.

cover blurb:
A gorgeous, escapist read about food, friendship and falling in love from afar...

When Eve Petworth writes to Jackson Cooper to praise a scene in one of his books, they discover a mutual love of cookery and food. As their letters criss-cross the ocean that lies between them, friendship and then romance blossoms despite Jackson's colourful love life and Eve's tense relationship with her soon-to-be-married daughter.

Little by little, Eve and Jack begin to believe that they may have a chance to change their lives and possibly get a second chance at happiness. They just need to actually meet...
