Stella is investigating the murder of the former fire chief, and who is haunting the place where she lives, the old chief's house. As if things are bad enough, someone tells Stella a secret, a secret they have kept for about 40 years. Then that person is dead. As the body counts rises a bit, Stella has more to worry about. Her parents and old ex are paying her a visit. As she investigates the murders, some very high powerful people are scrambling to cover their tracks and have no problem getting rid of Stella, any way they can. If they've killed once, they can do it again.

This really is a good read that works on so many levels. The writing and characters are outstanding. You'll be hooked with the writing style, and the characters seem so life like, they leap off the page at you. I had to laugh out loud at some of the things Eric does to Doug. It just made for an enjoyable read.

If you've read the first one, you know what to expect, and won't be let down. I know I wasn't. When the 3rd book in the series come out, I'll be the first in line to get it.
