The House on Mango Street

Beautiful writing, beautiful stories.
Thanks ekgv414 for passing this book along to me through the book relay! Looking forward to reading it!
A collection of vignettes told by a Latino girl growing up on Mango Street in Chicago. Esperanza dreams of a future that is better than her run down neighborhood in her stories. A very quick read which I read in under an hour.
Overall, I enjoyed the stories but did not really feel like I connected to the main character. I'm planning to take this book with me to the meet-up tommorrow to see if it will find another reader there.

I read this quite a while ago but forgot to journal. Nice, quick read. No lasting impression, however.
