From Book cover:

"Six minutes from now, one of us would be dead. None of us knew it was coming."

So says Wes Holloway, a young presidential aide, about the day he put Ron Boyle, the chief executive's oldest friend, into the president's limousine. By the trip's end, a crazed assassin would permanently disfigure Wes and kill Boyle. Now, eight years later, Boyle has been spotted alive. Trying to figure out what really happened takes Wes back into disturbing secrets buried in Freemason history, a decade-old presidential crossword puzzle, and a two-hundred-year-old code invented by Thomas Jefferson that conceals secrets worth dying for.

This is a new to me author but I think my husband and I might enjoy the book. I enjoyed our meet-up and catching up a little bit. Thank you josierivers, for the homemade book plates and stickers that were tucked inside the pages.

Another book that I didn't mean to keep forever! Too many books, not enough time to read. If it's any consolation, hubby read it long ago and it has been lingering in my pile of tobereads. I chose to read it this month because it met Plum-crazy's what to read for March theme of "four leaf clovers." (4 word titles were acceptable). The main character got shot working for the president. Eight years after the shooting, the president is no longer in the white house but he is still working for him. New information comes to light and he realizes that what he believed happened all those years before was not exactly what happened and he sets out to find the truth. This was the first book I've ever read by Meltzer and it was a good story but a bit wordy. I'd probably give another book by him a try.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

Today, the Red Hat Society Breakfast Club in the Columbia Area met for a "Bring Your Own Breakfast" at the park. First time we've been together in over a year, so you can imagine the talking and catching up going on. While there, I dropped off a few books in the little free library. This is one that I left.
