Cover: Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux and her lover, the lethally beautiful archangel Raphael, have returned home to New York only to face an uncompromising new evil.

A vampire has attacked a girls school – the assault is one of sheer, vicious madness – and it is only the first act. Rampant bloodlust takes vampire after vampire, threatening to make the streets run with blood. Then Raphael himself begins to show signs of an uncontrolled rage, as inexplicable storms darken the city skyline and the earth itself shudders.

The omens and suddenly terrifyingly clear.

An ancient and malevolent immortal is rising. The violent winds whisper her name: Caliane. She has returned to reclaim her son, Raphael. Only one thing stands in her way: Elena, the consort who must be destroyed…

Still thinking this, plot driven rather than character driven series would profit from more depth and as I mentioned before “I am experiencing a disconnect in terms of believability” and “disappointingly that there’s a muted or too fleeting feeling to some of the encounters and developments that divests them of their oomph.” In Archangel’s Consort Caliane, an ancient and malevolent female immortal is rising in Manhattan to reclaim her son, the archangel Raphael. Inevitably it’s the honour and loyalty of her human feeling heart that allows Elena, Raphael’s consort and now a barely-made immortal, to win through despite Caliane’s lethal intent.

I had wondered about getting the whole of this series, reading, registering and making a BookCrossing book ray with them but in point of fact was eager to find out how the series progressed so reserved the next in series from the library; 4 Archangel's Blade (2011); 5 Archangel's Storm (2012); 6 Archangel's Legion (2013.) Hopefully I’ll be able to collect them when I next I visit to print out some BookCrossing labels!

Yip - I know we swapped, one book for one, but I am including the first *three* books in this series in my parcel as a surprise! I hope this RABCK pleases you, I’m celebrating, this year, my tenth year as a BookCrosser so this is one of my book & bookmark, share-the-joy actions! Archangels Consort is accompanied by a magnetic closure card bookmark, showing a Scottish artists painting of a field of white daisies. It’s lovely and it’s a pity I’ve forgotten the artists name or I would have noted it in the interior. Cheers rainbow3

Due to a hic-up in my posting plans this reached the post from Cults, Aberdeen on Thursday 07 August, off into the post for Nataliec7. Enjoy!

Again a fantastic book based on Raphael and Elena. These angels definately have a complicated relationship!
Its the third book of the guild hunter series and its as enjoyable as the first 2. Singh gives you enough past info that I think you could pick up this book and have an overview of whats happened previously. Now to search for the next in series.

Thank you for tagging me with this, I'm looking forward to reading it, but as my TBR is massive it may be a while until I can get to it. I will read it and pass it on as soon as I can.
