From the back of the book:
"The secret shoppers return, best mates forever - until men and money come between them...
Sandie is on a roll, with a baby on the way and her partner proposing every five minutes. But when legendary Garnett's Department Store is faced with bankruptcy, she knows she's the only one to save it.
For Emily, Sandie's perfect life is a bitter pill to swallow, especially as things aren't perfect at home. As rifts grow, will she give in to a new temptation?
Glamorous Grazia tries to play peacemaker; but she has problems of her own - including a new, needy lover.
Can the magic of retail bring the shoppers back together; or is it time to shut up shop for good?
"

I got this book directly from the author in 2011, just after my twins were born prematurely. I was expecting to show her my nice big bump - instead I had to show her photos of two tiny little babies in incubators. Kate is an author who I have met a few times through BookCrossing, and she is an absolute angel. This book is signed from her to me, and the inscription says "To Katie, SO lovely to see you again! Happy reading, Kate xxx". So sweet! Kate also gave me a copy of her newest book especially for the twins, but as it is teen fiction, it will be a while before they will be reading that! But that was the first book they ever had!

Anyway, back to the secret shoppers. This book wasn't quite as good as the previous two outings, I don't think, though it was an enjoyable read. Emily is turning into something of a parody of herself, stuck in a tiny village with too much gossip and nasty things in her head. Such a shame! Grazia came into her own more in this book, but I wonder about the new dimension to her life, and whether she will come to resent it. Sandie was the only one who really retained the secret shopper aspect of herself, and was the better for it. The challenges at Garnett's were certainly nothing I would have wanted to take on whilst pregnant, let alone with the battleaxe in charge taking pot shots at every opportunity! I loved the secret shopping of the wedding boutique!

A good book, but probably the last outing for the shoppers, I think. Their time with us (or ours with them, I probably ought to say) has run its course, and we don't want them to end up losing their lovable sides from too much scrutiny.
