I put off reading this book forever, and I have no idea why, I LOVED it! It has a great main character and a super evil villain, a wonderful plot and a great look at life in the world of "glossies" (fashion magazines)
Andrea's dream is to be a serious writer for The New Yorker Magazine, when she is offered a job at Runway magazine working as an assistant to the infamous Miranda Priestly she is dubious, but all the people at Runway keep selling her on the job telling her that one year of working for Priestly will garner her any position in the magazine world she could dream of. Once she accepts the position as what she soon realizes is Miranda Priestly whipping post, she understands why everyone was trying to sell her on the position. This book is similar in some ways to The Nanny Diaries as it gives you that insiders look at what the rich and spoiled are really like and it is also based on the authors real experiences working for Vogue Magazines Anna Wintour. It is a lot better than Nanny Diaries though, as the author is a very talented storyteller.

Utterly amazing! Great characters: Andy is a delight and Miranda, let's just say she was interesting. It wasn't until I was almost 3/4 of the way through the book that I realized I know someone exactly like her and could totally relate to Andy: having to be at Miranda's beck and call for she who must be obeyed. I look forward to reading more by Lauren Weisberger.
