The idea of skipping Christmas appeals to me and I generally like John Grisham's novels, but this was just a low quality seasonal cash-in, like the literary equivalent of a Cliff Richard festive single.

Quite a departure from Grisham's usual offerings. A little corny, maybe, but it's only 177 pages, so perfect for a quick read.
