Found this book at Border's and I could not resist getting it. Most of the adult fiction written by Oates I have already read and enjoyed. I am very curious to see the differences, if any, in this book that is YA.

Going of my rather large TBR pile.

This book is going to be offered up on Casualreader's Bookrelay Site. This site is just as addicting as anything else with BC attached to it.

I've been looking forward to this one - it is going to have a brief visit here in WV, then will go back to its mommy.

I love YA fiction, but the writing is so poor in many of today's books, so I often read books from the 50s and 60s....this is a welcome exception. I love Oates and she does a great job here, mixing contemporary culture with a story that is perfect for any era. Thanks so much for loaning this to me....it's headed back across the country soon.

I am thrilled that I was able to share this book with you, grover3d! It made it back here safely. I can't wait to read it myself especially after reading your journal entry.

Once I am done this book is off to ellymae58 and shiznitchels.

I really got caught up in this story while I was reading it. I ended up finishing this in one sitting. This book just compelled me to keep reading. High school can be hard enough for some but to add the hyper-vigilance that is present now can be a mess. Yes, I don’t want kids reacting and ending up hurting others or themselves. What worries me is that an innocent mistake can turn into something so huge. This was just an excellent read. Now I want to read her other YA book, “Freaky Green Eyes.”

Arrived in a surprise bookbox from my buddy in Oregon.

I can't believe you sent this one to me. Too funny, since you asked me about it before and I didn't want it. LOL
I'll add it to my possible reads pile. If I decide not to read it, it'll be passed on.

Thanks Kim!

Bugger! Does it help if I tell you the FMS causes massive brain fog so that is why I forgot? Or that I am blonde? Ok yes my blonde has been turning to nasty dishwater blonde/brown as I get older.

Anyway I am so sorry!

After a stay with my nieces in CA this book is back in my possession. I have some YA book boxes coming my way that it may hitch a ride in or I will look to see if this is on anyone’s wish list. Thanks for sending it back, shiznitchels.
