In a nutshell...a high power Washington DC lawyer ends up on the wrong side of a hostage taking incident. The experience is extremely traumatic for him and ends up being life changing. I didn't always like Michael Brock...and on occasion he did things that I thought were mind numbingly stupid, but by the end of the book, I'd warmed up to him. It's nice (for a change), to read a book where the lawyers aren't all soulless black hearted villains.
