Thanks Pete, been looking at this in book shops for a while and thinking i should get round to it. I'll send it on its way to another archaeologist when i'm done.

A surprisingly enjoyable read with a few laughs thrown in. Modern policing and magic are not a traditional combo but aaronovitch makes it work. I will keep an eye out for the rest of this series.
