A great read - a good introduction into the female world of growing up in Kabul. Touch's on a lot of topics such as the burka, equal rights, female responsibilities, family structure and the changing attitudes of Afgan's after the fall of the Taliban.
This book has inspired me to read so much more about a culture that I clearly mis-understood. It is hard to find texts that tell it like it is, so much is censored and has been destroyed by the Taliban. I am truely glad to have read this book and acquire similiar like it since. I wish it went into a bit more details about a few things but it is still a largly censored nation so the details that are in this book make it worth a read
