The illustrations on this copy are bold lino-cut prints by Hannah Firmin. Not the original cover though one which McCall Smith, when I heard him talk in 2005, said he was particularly pleased with this artists work as the print style and colour gave a good feel for the country Botswana.

Ta-ra! I was out looking for a Scottish Ghost Stories or Witch Stories for some Halloween fun. None were forthcoming but this was found and as it’s the first of The No.1 Ladies’ Detective Agency series of which I am also sending BookCrosser LynnGroman books two and three it seemed so meant I added this to the parcel.
