This book is one of the many books (hopefully not too many, I was trying to be restrained in the numbers I picked up!) I brought home from the wonderful Leeds UK Unconvention this weekend.
I chose this from the book buffet tables because I've read lots of this author's easy-reading, light-hearted mysteries, including several featuring Drew Slocombe, so was pleased to add this first of his west country adventures to my many books to be read.
2 Grave Concerns
4 A Market for Murder
5 A Grave in the Cotswolds
Thanks for making it available, Katisha50! It was lovely to see you again!

While I've enjoyed others from this series, I'm afraid this first one was a step too far and I've abandoned it unfinished - well, hardly started, actually ....
There's something inherently unpleasant, highly unlikely and probably illegal, about a trainee undertaker forcing a tube down the gullet of a corpse to suck out a sample from the contents of its stomach! I got no further!
I read cosy mysteries with amateur detectives but sometimes their actions go beyond my patience level. This isn't the first I've quit in disgust .... there was the girl deliberately hiding evidence from the police .... and the two middle-aged ladies breaking and entering to crack a suspect's safe .... and ....
There's a fine line between entertaining silliness and annoying stupidity .... sorry, Kat, but I'm afraid this one's on the wrong side ....

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

To millycat when we get together with our husbands to enjoy some time in beautiful Nidderdale - not necessarily for her own use but for restocking Official BookCrossing Zones in her area!

Over two million people around the world give their books a unique BookCrossing IDentity number (BCID) before sending them out to find new readers. Since the start of the scheme in April 2001 nearly ten million such books have been put into circulation. This is one of them!

Our hope is that we can track the progress of our books once they've left our hands - and that's possible if finders like you visit the website, key in the BCID and leave a comment, however long or short. It's fun, it doesn't cost anything and you can remain anonymous if you wish. You don't have to join but if you do you'll be able to number and track your own books!

Ok, I've got some others in this series & might well read one of them soonish - if I enjoy it, I'll hang onto this for a while, otherwise it'll end up at a local OBCZ

Handing over some books to Nu-knees!

Journal Entry 8 by wingNu-Kneeswing at Knaresborough, North Yorkshire United Kingdom on Friday, April 6, 2018
This is one of around half a dozen books I was given by millycat during a lovely day out with our husbands in an unexpectedly sunny Knaresborough yesterday. Perhaps Spring is here at last!
We were amused to discover that it had come from me in the first place! I thought the sticker on the front cover looked familiar :-) I didn't finish it the first time around, and don't plan to try again, but I will find it a new home somewhere!
Thanks anyway, lass. Good to see you again!
