Interesting story. Not too realistic, but then this is fiction. Had to stretch my willingness to suspend my disbelief towards the end regarding Ranta's behaviour, but then who knows how these people tick.

On the front cover, The Scotsman is quoted with "Screamingly funny". I don't share this opinion, but then I don't have a Scottisch sense of humour. The Daily Mirror calls the book "Gripping, sexy, violent and outrageous", and that's more like it. Although I'm not sure how this book is sexy (it contains some almost safe for work sex scenes). "Gripping" may be stretching it a bit, but it doesn't push the reader away, either. "Violent" is certainly right, there are some rather graphic descriptions of violence. Anyway, nice read!
