Just bought this at my local Barnes & Noble. I have been wanting to read this for a while! Registering and starting it now so I can fill a wish of Bkind2books as part of the tag game.

In Jeneration X: One Reluctant Adult's Attempt to Unarrest Her Arrested Development; Or, Why It's Never Too Late for Her Dumb Ass to Learn Why Froot Loops Are Not for Dinner the author conveys her reluctant adult lessons learned. I loved it. Each chapter was something anyone could relate and Jen sprinkles with humor and shares with the world. Thank you for making me smile throughout the book. I laughed out loud, got many strange looks but I always flashed the cover and said you gotta read this! I know this will be enjoyed by many and starting with a surprise RABCK to Bkind2books. Jen Lancaster - a snarky Everywoman - is back at it again with this offering. Here she looks at the challenges involved in achieving adulthood - volunteering, mammograms, getting a loan, moving to the (safer) suburbs. There's not much that isn't fodder for the attention of Lancaster. She is like that friend that keeps you in stitches describing her latest escapade. I would love to sit down with her (and Fletch - OMG! he is priceless - and the pets sound adorable if slightly schizo) and have a coffee.

Jen's Better than Whole Foods Kale Salad

1 bunch kale (washed & split with stems removed)
Juice of one fresh lemon
2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
2 heaping tbsp pine nuts
2 heaping tbsp dried cranberries
salt, pepper, & garlic powder to taste
Optional: goat cheese, red pepper, tomato

Tear kale into chuck and massage with oil and lemon juice. Allow leaves to marinate for at least 10 minutes. Toss with nuts, cranberries and seasonings. If desired, add goat cheese, slivers of red pepper or chunks of tomato. Will last overnight in refrigerator & is just as fresh on 2nd day.

I love Jen Lancaster books. Thanks so much to sending along this wish list book. Comes at a good time - hope to get a lot reading done while I'm laid up with a broken ankle.

Funny and so very true about the growing-up things. I was so proud when she went to her first mammogram. And I still can't stop giggling about the return of the Barbie Styling Head.

I plan on sending this on to someone when I'm given the go-ahead to start driving again.

I just love Jen Lancaster. She reminds me of an old college friend and I really enjoy reading her work. There's nothing laugh-out-loud in this particular book for me, but I smiled a lot and giggled and generally enjoyed it. I would love to sit and have margaritas with her someday.

I'll be passing this on to the aforementioned college friend when I see her next week.
