When a local charity shop closed, they had a great deal on books-- 10 for $5. My boyfriend and I picked out 10, 7 of which are becoming bookcrossing books. I am the bookcrosser, and Chris picked this one, so I thought he just wanted it... but nope. He picked it because he wants me to read it and bookcross it. He already has an old copy that has sentimental value to him.

I'm not very excited about reading this book. I've heard wonderful things about it, but it's just never appealed to me. I guess that's why I have never picked it up at the age of 27! I know books should not be judged by their covers and I am not making judgements about the book itself, I may love it... but I have to say that the cover and the title have both always grossed me out and deterred me from sitting down with this book, keeping it by my bedside, carrying it around in my purse, etc. Oh well, it's important to someone I love, so I will make it through Lord of the Flies, I WILL... and then I will journal it again, and set it free for someone else!

As I said, I bought this at a charity shop in my city of Cambridge, Ontario. There is a barcode sticker on the back from Trent University Bookstore, so I guess it must have been travelling a little already, coming here somehow from Peterborough.
