I'm terribly sorry for only journaling this now. My internet's currently not working. :-(

I really enjoyed this volume, though I didn't remember all the character's past stories. I will have to reread Doll's House nie, for example.

I'll send it on to Xirxe asap!

Journal Entry 4 by wingXirxewing at Hannover, Niedersachsen Germany on Saturday, October 5, 2013
Sandman arrived safely today. Thanks to SerendipityN and LilyKlip!!!

19th of October 2013
As LilyKlip already wrote: This time somebody is in real trouble. The little son of a young woman has been kidnapped and she is persuaded of the blame of the Lord of Dreams. In search of her child, she meets The Three Furies, whose duty is practicing bloody revenge without a soupçon of pity. And so their next object will be the Sandman...
But this is not the only story in this volume, which is at least twice as thick as the previous ones. Among other things, there is Lady Delirium looking for her dog; also there is Nuala and her unrequited love for The Sandman; we follow Loki's cruel fate and additional a young woman who is attending an acquaintance while a deadly disease – and to be honest: I don’t have any idea what kind of proportion is this tale to the main story. Like before at the last book I come to the same conclusion: I have to read the previous books probably once again ;-)
The stories are devilishly good as usual. However, this time I quarrel with the drawings. They are rougher painted than the previous images, almost in a sort of cubist way which I don’t find that appealing as a basis for a graphic novel. It would be wonderful if in the next volume the illustrators return to the old drawing style.

It's here! Thank you very much for sending Xirxe (and the tea)!
Looking forward to another Sandman story, and finding out who they were mourning in the previous volume.. (glad to hear that it wasn't something I had missed in vol. 8 :p)
Thanks again for sharing the books LilyKlip!

Journal Entry 7 by Tsjara at Assendelft, Noord-Holland Netherlands on Wednesday, November 27, 2013
This was a nice fat one. :p I enjoyed seeing so many of the characters again from previous volumes, Fiddler's Green, Lucifer, Nuala and Cluracan, Loki and Odin (hehe one-eyed mouse?), Rose Walker (and of the spider ladies?), Thessaly/Larissa. Though I couldn't always quite remember what had happened to them before. I quite liked this new Corinthian actually, though he is still a bit scary. And was surprised to find out about Lucien's previous form/occupation..
The bits with Delirium and the borghal rantipole made me smile (it is very cute for a nightmare ;p).
I really liked this volume, even though it is also quite sad..

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

I enjoyed this, but I did feel I was missing a lot of references becasue I couldn't remember details from previous stories; often I'd get half way though a bit and go 'oh, yes, that's who you are...' and then go back a few pages to re-read!

In the post to the next reader now

Arrived today, looking forward to reading it.

Journal Entry 12 by MKtiny at Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire United Kingdom on Thursday, January 30, 2014
A meatier volume than previously, but a great read. Like Vekiki, I had to work hard to remember some of the previous characters and story lines, but this was a satisfying story with many threads. I'm still not sure of Rose's role, but I know it goes right back to the first volume. The idea of the devil having given up Hell to become a piano man in an L.A. bar made me smile.
On its way to lunacia.

The book is with me! I need to "air" it before I can start reading it. Damn perfume allergies. :-(

This book took me longer to read than the other Sandman books - no surprise, it was longer! I really enjoyed it, though!

Edit. 4th July
I started this yesterday and try to be quick. However, I'm on holiday next week and will not take this with me as it might get dirty/something else in my luggage. But the book is safe with me and having lots of fun with my other TBR-books! :D

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

Sorry about the delay once again, the book was sent on this Monday.

I found this one a bit difficult to read, maybe it was the case of Daniel which sort of kept me wondering what would happen but still, it was a bit tough subject. Thanks for sharing this book, anyway! :)

Love how it brought various stories together, but it ment I needed to do a lot of googling to remember past characters. :)
Getting into the last vol. before I forget everything again.

Thanks for sharing, LilyKlip!
