plan to release at boston bookcrossing meetup at algiers coffee house, 40 brattle st, cambridge, ma on tuesday, august 13, 2013
Caught at the Boston Bookcrossing Aug. 2013 meetup, I love Margaret Atwood, thank you, will be reading soon!
An older novel by Atwood set in the early 90's mostly about a toxic friendship -- and how it bonds three dis-similar women together. It's focused not so much about the mysterious woman and how she manipulates the distinct other three: because they have hopes/wants and because she can with a little political commentary weaved, i.e. the crash of the 80's economy into the early 90's harsh Resession, the Gulf War and the AIDS epidemic which seem to be faded memories but she sets them acutely during this time, contrasting the Gulf War a bit with Vietnam (overtly though). Again this mostly about human relationship how far can you go story with no set end in that perhaps the person/your relationship or non-relationship: it ends but is it [the pain] really ever over?
Holding for now.
