bought at the station as I realised I'd gone to Glasgow without a book (disaster!) - a good read but I don't think it's as good as White Teeth; also not sure it's worth the huge hype on the cover. Cleverly written book about the lives of four Londoners from the same estate - just perhaps not my 'book of the year'.

I had really enjoyed "White Teeth" and was desperate to enjoy this as much, but I just could not relate to the characters or follow the plot as it jumped from person to person and from time to time. The different style of Chapters only added to the confusion. Very disappointing.
