Conjure Wife
3 journalers for this copy...
Professor Norman Saylor considered magic nothing more than superstition. Then he learned that his own wife was a practicing sorceress. But he still refuses to accept the truth…that in the secret occult warfare that governs our lives, magic is a matter of life and death. And that unbeknownst to men, every woman knows it.
Filmed twice, as Weird Woman (1944) and Burn Witch Burn (1961), this tale of secret witchcraft on a modern college campus is as readable today as the day it was written.

Absolutely mesmerizing. I started reading in the morning and gave up on all chores in order to read as much as I could without stopping. Very engaging with clear description and detailed characters.
I don't remember how I learned of this book. It may have been a suggestion on Goodreads. What is important is that I did learn of it and now read it. Urban Fantasy & Horror done so well it captivates the reader.
This may be in my Top Three books of 2013.

Off to our September Paranormal Devil :)
I really hope you like it!

This one looks good. I haven't read any by this author, but from the excerpt on the back cover I think both mom and I will like it. Thanks for sending it, and sorry it took me so long to acknowledge.
I just finished reading this book a couple of days ago and was very surprised at how different it was. I thought it would be just another paranormal reading, but it was very different from what I have read in the past. Mom didn't care for it, but she really likes romance and didn't care for the "dark overtones."
Sending this one out to Nim for the Paradevil Exchange.

This got here safely and has been waiting for me to have time to journal it.
This was an amazing and enthralling story. I loved how the horror/paranormal elements were treated like a sociology study due to the main character's profession. At times the writing style reminded me a lot of the style of The Stepford Wives. I might not have picked this up on my own so I'm grateful for you two wonderful ladies for sharing this out into the world.
