John and Philippa Gaunt, twelve-year-old twins who have recently discovered themselves to be descended from a long line of djinn and in possession of magical powers, continue on their extraordinary adventures in this sequel to THE AKHENATEN ADVENTURE. When a powerful book of djinn magic goes missing, John and Philippa are called upon to retrieve it. Only, the book isn't really missing. The trap was set and Philippa is abducted by the Blue Djinn. In this latest installment of the twins' magical adventures, John and his uncle Nimrod must find Philippa before it's too late.
Released at the November meet-up of Calgary BookCrossers, held at Cravings Market Restaurant.
picked this up at the November meeting
Picked up this book at the Calgary BookCrossing February meet-up. I wasn't exactly wowed by the first book, but I thought I would give the series another shot.
This book was slightly better than the first one. I suppose once you do away with the origin story you have room to do more. I wasn't impressed that Phillipa didn't have much to do in this one and that John had to come to her rescue. Maybe in the next book the roles are reversed, but I really don't have an interest in continuing with this series.
Passing on this book to the next reader at the Calgary BookCrossing April meet-up.

Picked this one up at our last meetup and hope to read it soon. I am thrilled to see that I have read the first book. Love the organization of the sticky note inside the cover. Thank you!
It was hard to finish this book due to my garden taking up a lot of my time, and starting work again after being off for five months.
But today was a perfect day to kick back and just read. Holiday Monday, I had slept in until 9:30, showered, made a coffee, curled up on the couch and just read. I just finished.
I do like Philippa and John’s adventures, and nice light reading, not quite fluff but magical. I was glad that the Uncles that were turned into the Rottweilers are back, it would be cool to turn some of my in-laws into the family pets at times.
It appears the Erin is next on the list for this one.

Sorry, but I need to return some books back to the group at our meetup at Cravings. It has been such a long time since we have gotten together!
