This novel is an incredible journey into unknown territory ...beyond physical existence. To return to an earthly plane from such a journey is to face the daunting struggle of learning to live with a knowledge no human being should possess. In 1847, a Franciscan monk, stumbles on a musical means that facilitates the consciousness leaving the body. The problem is ...getting back! Not only does his work place many lives in jeopardy in his own time, but when his manuscript surfaces in 1989 the trouble begins all over again. There is a good reason why some of the greatest minds from Plato to Shakespeare have pondered the spiritual nature of music.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

Well - it is 12:40 AM and I just finished this book so I could bring it back. I enjoyed the book with its 2 stories that intertwined. Odd concept of going 'over' when the chords are played. There were a few errors that editors should have caught.

An interesting premise on the afterlife and all the complications involved. I enjoyed the earlier stories more than the present day story. Somehow the medical interventions and police procedurals seemed less believeable in the modern story.
