One of my all time favorite books. I find EM Forster's writing very thought provoking but at the same time amusing.
Back cover, "'Only connect.' Forster's key aphorism, informs this novel about an English country house, Howards End, and its influence on the lives of the wealthy and materialistic Wilcoxes; the cultured, idealistic Schlegel sisters; and the poor bank clerk Leonard Bast. Bringing together people from different classes and nations by way of sympathetic insight and understanding, Howards End eloquently addresses the question 'Who shall inherit England?'" (Lionel Trilling)

I plan to leave this on a table outside sometime before 2pm. This is left as a Sunday Sunset Mission (#17 - Is Starbuck's BookCrossing Friendly?). I hope someone finds it and enjoys it as much as I did!!!

I just picked up the book. I will definately try to read it, but I'm more of a biography and "based on true story" kind of girl. Since I do respect other type readings, though, I will give this one a chance. I really like this whole "out in the wild", REAL world library. And since recommended it, I should really give it a chance.

Well, I tried to give this book a chance. It's just not my type...thus the "not applicable" rating. It was a rating to be fair to those people who like this type of literature. Since it is not an assignment, I leave it in the hands of the professionals (like Fizzfred-"with sincere respect"). I am moving on the my "Autobiography of Martin Luther King" It was more my reading material. I will be setting Howard's End free, from my wretched hands, at Coffee Plantation on Elk Grove-Florin Rd, (the corner of Elk Grove-Florin Rd. and Elk Grove Blvd. in California) on Sunday February 29th (today). Come in and say hi- I'll be doing homework. May this book reach more capable hands.
