This is the saddest of the series. Everyone has to make their decision whether to stand or not, and fully realize what it means.
I always was a little annoyed with Frannie in the book, wanted to slap her up the side of the head and say 'grow up!' I have a feeling the adapters of the novel were a little more annoyed with her than I was.
I've really enjoyed this so far.

Sending this off to the next person in the ring. Enjoy!

I totally forgot that the "person" died! I was half shocked but soon remembered it was what it was on TV series. (Though I think the details were different.) Nadine's parts were really nice with good effects. The artwork of Tom when he was in trance or the state of "blank" scared me though. It is just really creepy.
Happy Halloween!

The six-volume set arrived today; many thanks! Will savor the horror, and get it moving again soon. (I admit that, of all the covers, this one strikes me as less than satisfactory, mainly because of that too-fake "look of fear" on her face; the other covers have been dandy, but this one, not so much.)
Later: Yes! After the relative tranquility of the last volume's "rebuilding" bits, this volume picks up the drama again - does it ever! Even knowing what was going to happen, I found myself agonizing as the danger drew closer - the urge to yell "Get out!" to a page of drawings was surprisingly strong...

The six-volume series will be on its way to its next stop, cinnycat in New York, on Tuesday. Enjoy!
thanks again!
This one picks up the drama, on the level of the first volume when the virus is spreading. I remember the suspense of the book was ridiculous around this point.. especially a certain person dies who happened to be one of my favorites. Also, is it just me or is there a huge lack of any people of color in this. The artwork is still lovely. And I loved the voice through the drive in movie speakers. One more volume to go!
Sent out today! thanks again!
All six volumes are here safe and sound. Thanks again for sharing!
More awesomeness in the story of The Stand! In this volume, Harold and Nadine get together in more ways than one, but not in that one little way; the committee chooses spies to travel to Vegas; Mother Abigail returns in a coma; the bomb; sadness; the four knights set out to confront The Dark Man in the final Stand!
