Benny--the only child, yearning to break free from her adoring parents...Eve--the orphaned offspring of a convent handyman and a rebellious blueblood, abandoned by her mother's wealthy family to be raised by nuns. Eve and Benny--they knew the sins and secrets behind every villager's lace curtains...except their own.
It widened at Dublin, at the university where Benny and Eve met beautiful Nan Mahlon and Jack Foley, a doctor's handsome son. This is my best friend's favorite book, so I'm going to read it and see why.
Thanks for sending it!
Thanks for sending it!
Okay, at first, this book was the most boring dull piece of poo I'd read in quite some time. But, this is my best friend's favorite book, so I plugged along at it. One of the pages is torn, and the one after it has a chunk missing, so there are a couple paragraphs not really there, but it's not at an important part, either.
The book got a little better as it went on, but it'll not be a book I'll ever pick up again, by any means, and I was a little dissapointed with the ending.
Story lines that I felt were much more important just never got completed for me, while Binchy brought closure to others.
Oh well, not bad, but not good either.
