When my friend was clearing out an old storeroom at her workplace, she found a huge number of books tucked away out of sight. Rather than see them thrown out, I kindly offered to adopt them all for BookCrossing.

Hmmm, not for me. I tried very hard to get into this, but having never read this author before, I wasn't sure what to expect. The first chapter was very slow and gave a lot of historical blurbage, but I battled on and tried the next couple. It soon became clear that this was going to be a court-based story, which I wasn't really in the mood for, even if it was set in an unusual background. So I decided to move on to something more up my street!
